Hair care questions

How do you brush waves?

Use a curved boar-bristle brush, like the Glory Brush (Your Hair). Your hair doesn't need to be damp when you start brushing. Take long, steady strokes from the crown outward to lay your pattern. On a fresh cut, let the bristles glide light. While you're wolfing, use steady pressure to lay the bulk down. Work Pomade Paste in during the brush session for hold and shine.

When should I put on my durag?

Put it on last. Work in your Pomade Paste during your brush session and lay your pattern with the brush, then pull the durag smoothly over your crown. Tie the wide, flat straps snug but without tension. Wear it overnight or during the day to keep your waves laid and your moisture in.

Can I use pomade on my beard?

Yes. Glory Pomade Paste is light, so it works on beards as well as waves, curls, slick-backs and buns. Warm a dime-sized amount between your palms and smooth it down through your beard for a clean line. It's whipped, not greasy, gives hold and shine with no flakes, and washes out clean.

How do I wash textured hair with Glory?

Wash day is two steps, both in the shower. Rub the Rosemary Myrrh Shampoo & Body Bar on your damp scalp and hair, build a thick lather and rinse. For waves and curls, brush the lather through from the root. Then smooth the Hydrating Peppermint Conditioner through your hair and scalp, leave it a few minutes, and rinse it out.

Is the Hydrating Conditioner a leave-in?

No. The Hydrating Peppermint Conditioner doesn't stay in your hair during the day like Pomade Paste does. You wash it out in the shower: smooth it through your hair and scalp, leave it a few minutes, then rinse. After the shower, Pomade Paste is the product that stays in for hold and shine.

Will Pomade Paste make my hair greasy or flaky?

No. Pomade Paste is a whipped, light paste that melts in your hands and gives a natural finish with no grease. Flakes usually happen when a product dries out and breaks up on your hair. Start with a small amount, on damp or dry hair, and build from there.

Can Glory help with thinning hair?

Glory isn't a hair-loss treatment. We build a healthy scalp routine with ingredients that have a history in scalp care, like peppermint: menthol has been shown to increase blood flow in skin, and peppermint oil has been linked in lab research to hair growth in mice. For thinning hair, talk to a dermatologist.
